A Peruvian giant first presented in 1858, Musifolia was a striking presence in many a Victorian garden. It is grown primarily for its bold green, maroon-edged leaves that resemble the leaves of the banana tree from which it derives its name. Inconspicuous red flowers bloom late in the season.
